Czech Republic: Over 16 million hectoliters of beer was drunk in the Czech Republic in 2003. The Czechs lead the world in annual consumption at 162 liters per capita. According to the latest statistics, nearly CEK 50 billion is spent for beer in the Czech Republic every year, and Czech breweries produced 18.5 million hl of beer in 2003. Over 2 million hectoliters of that was exported.
