Uzbekistan, Tashkent: Beer production rose 4% year-on-year to 78.79 million liters in 2003. Members of the Uzpischeprom association increased beer production 7.1% to 56.37 million liters, according to Interfax.

Uzbekistan produced 34.98 million liters of food-grade pure alcohol in 2003, 12.7% less than in 2002, the state statistics department told Interfax.
