USA, NC: Twin Leaf Brewery opens in Asheville’s brewing district
Brewery news

Another new brewery is opening in Asheville’s unofficial brewing district on March 8. Twin Leaf Brewery will be the 16th craft brewery in Buncombe County. Four other breweries are located within walking distance, Asheville Citizen-Times reported on March 6.

Twin Leaf is owned by the husband and wife team of Steph and Tim Weber, former engineers who were previously living in Pennsylvania before moving here, and were attracted to WNC by the outdoors culture, Steph Weber said. Both are skilled homebrewers and they will handle brewing duties at Twin Leaf, she said.

The brewery is located in a 5,000-square-foot space once used as a photo studio. Twin Leaf is using a 10-barrel brewing system. For starters, it will have five house beers — an ESB, a Belgian wit, a dark oatmeal stout, a Belgian tripel and an IPA, she said. “We tend to brew on the dryer side with lots of malt complexity and very hops forward,” she continued.

Along with the main production brewery, Twin Leaf will have a half-barrel pilot system to make one-time beers.

For now, the Twin Leaf beers will only be sold on draft at the brewery.
