Russia and Ukraine: Beer sales reports from Eastern Europe are stunning. Russia, which produced 8 % more beer in 2003 than in 2002, reports a plus of 22 % in January compared to the same (very cold) month last year. Russian brewer OAO Patra sold 6.97 million litres of its production in April 2004 107.8% more versus April 2003. The company sold 6.32 million litres of beer, 109.2% more. From the Ukraine the Obolon brewery signals an increase of 17 % of sales in January/February 2004.
