USA, AZ & TX: SanTan Brewing Co. to start shipping its signature beers to Texas
Brewery news

Chandler-based SanTan Brewing Co. will soon see its line of signature beers on store shelves in Texas, Phoenix Business Journal reported on May 13.

On the heels of its distribution deal in California, the makers of Devil’s Ale and Mr. Pineapple have come to terms with Fort Worth, Texas-based Ben E. Keith Co. to distribute its brews throughout the Lone Star State.

“We are very excited to be partnering with SanTan Brewing in Texas,” said Kevin Bartholomew, president of Ben E. Keith. “We have had consumers reach out to us for several years, asking if SanTan brands might be coming to our state soon.”

As Arizona’s second-largest brewery, SanTan recently ventured into California with its first out-of-state distribution deal.

The Chandler-based brewery has been eyeing expansion and out-of-state distribution for some time. The craft brewer opened a new $6 million brewing facility last year that substantially enhances its brewing capacity, and hired craft beer veteran Wendy Weathers as business development manager to work toward out-of-state distribution.

Other Arizona-based breweries such as Phoenix Ale Brewery and Williams-based Grand Canyon Brewing Co. also sell their brews beyond state lines.

Arizona’s largest brewer, Tempe-based Four Peaks Brewing Co., has long downplayed any desire to expand out of state.
