Canada, ON: Brick Brewing reports first quarter profits of C$31,000
Brick Brewing Co. Ltd. has reported first-quarter profits of C$31,000, a reversal from a loss of C$207,000 in the same period a year earlier, Waterloo Record reported on June 4.
The Kitchener-based beer maker said cost control, improved product mix and pricing contributed to improved margins.
The company said net revenue in the first quarter ended April 26 increased to C$7.7 million from C$7.5 million in the same period a year earlier.
Brick said sales volumes of its Waterloo premium brands grew 11.3 per cent compared to a year earlier, while sales volumes of its Laker brands increased 3.5 per cent.
Sales volumes of Seagram Coolers fell 26.7 per cent, a decline the company attributed to reduced listings at the LCBO and the timing of new product launches.
