Tanzania: Heineken launches 500ml bottle

Heineken has announced plans to expand its portfolio through the launch of its iconic beer in 500ml bottle in Tanzania, East African Business Week reported on September 9.

“Judging from the approving comments and smiling faces we received after our initial survey, we are confident that the 500 ml will be able to take on other premium SKU’s of the same quantity,” Michael Mbungu, the Country Manager of Heineken Tanzania, said.

As an international premium beer brand, Heineken continues to increase its footprint in the regional market, and the latest innovation aims to appeal to a wider range of beer lovers and initiate them to the premium beer category.

Mbungu said they had conducted research amongst Tanzanian beer consumers and had received positive feedback regarding the launch of the 500 ml Heineken bottle.
