USA, TN: New Heights Brewing to open in Nashville in the first quarter of 2016
Brewery news

It appears another craft-brewery will open soon in South Nashville. A building permit issued on September 22 shows $250,000 of rehab work to be done for a new tenant, New Heights Brewing, located at 928 Fifth Ave. S. A representative for the brewery could not immediately be reached, but an Instagram account for New Heights Brewing plans its opening as early as 2016, Nashville Business Journal reported on September 23.

The location would put New Heights Brewing in between an established craft beer district — the outer Gulch/SoBro — and the ever-growing Chestnut Hill/Wedgewood-Houston neighbourhoods of South Nashville, where at least two distilleries are opening, in addition to restaurants. New Heights Brewing would be the 16th craft brewery in Davidson County.

Considering Nashville had less than five craft breweries just four years ago, that growth rate may make it seem like the market is becoming over-saturated. However, Asheville, N.C. has one brewery for about every 15,000 residents, while Nashville's ratio skews closer to about one brewery for every 60,000 residents, when considering those that are currently open. Not to mention the thirsty tourists who are also filling Nashville's breweries.

According to Davidson County property records, 928 Fifth Ave. S. is a 7,500-square foot warehouse built in 1960. The Bradley Development Group is listed as the contact on the building permit.
