USA, NC: Sycamore Brewing purchases property in Charlotte with expansion plans in mind
Brewery news

Charlotte-based Sycamore Brewing has bought a real estate in Charlotte with an eye on future growth, Charlotte Business Journal reported on September 30.

Owners Justin and Sarah Brigham say buying the 1.6-acre lot at 2161 Hawkins Street in Charlotte was always a goal - they just didn’t expect it to happen so quickly.

Sycamore Brewing opened on November 1 last year.

“This is just something we’re doing with our eyes on the future,” Sarah Brigham says.

The Brighams declined to share a purchase price for the property. Real estate records had not been updated to show the sale that took place on September 30.

The couple says that acquisition will allow them to expand production capacity, as well as make changes to their taproom and beer garden to keep up with growth.

“We do have some expansion plans in mind,” Sarah Brigham says.

They’re working with an architect to map out their possibilities.

But the first year of operation has been a whirlwind for the couple. Sycamore Brewing tripled its tank capacity and now can produce upwards of 5,000 barrels a year.

“We’ve always wanted to grow organically and stay local,” Justin Brigham says. “We haven’t really set our sights outside of Charlotte.”
