Australia’s family-owned Coopers brewery booked a 16% rise in beer sales in 2003-04 to a record A$69 million (US$49.8m) from about 38m litres. Group sales, including home brew kits and malt extract brought sales to an unaudited A$90 million. Managing director Dr Tim Cooper said the company intended to increase its presence outside its home markets of South Australia and the Northern Territory to 50% of turnover.
