Australia: Adelaide’s own Coopers beers will once again be flowing at SKYCITY Adelaide on North Terrace. Coopers has won a five year contract giving it the “second pour” rights to SKYCITY from August 1 and will be installing two taps in three bars – the Balcony Bar, Express Bar and new North Terrace front bar, which will open in December as part of SKYCITY’s current multi-million dollar redevelopment program.

Coopers Chairman and Marketing Director, Mr Glenn Cooper, said three of the taps would pour Coopers Pale Ale, while the other three taps would be rotated to provide a range of Coopers products. “We were originally the beer supplier to the casino when it first opened in December 1985, but lost the right to provide beer on tap about five years ago,” he said. “While Coopers has been available in bottles at SKYCITY, regaining the right to pour our beer on tap is a major boost for the brewery and is expected to have a significant impact on sales.”

Mr Cooper said that as part of the arrangement, Coopers would also be able to undertake special promotions in conjunction with SKYCITY Adelaide. Lion Nathan previously held exclusive rights to beer on tap at SKYCITY, but this has now been restructured with CUB winning the first pour rights and Coopers the second pour rights.
