USA, CA: Concord Craft Brewing to ask for approval for a different location
Concord Craft Brewing will reapply to Concord’s zoning board to open in a new location after receiving prior approval on a different space, The Washington Times reported on November 30.
The Concord Monitor reports the brewery was set to open in a former jazz club on the Pleasant Street Extension, but will now move into a site that once housed a furniture and decor designer.
Because the city’s code prohibits the bottling of beverages downtown, owner Dennis Molnar needed approval - which he received for the Pleasant Street Extension space.
Molnar says the previous location was too tight, while the new one offers more space for larger brewing equipment and easier deliveries.
If the Storrs Street site is approved by the zoning board, Molnary says his group will begin the federal and state permitting process.
