Brewery news

Arlington’s Angel of the Winds Casino, which is owned by the Stillaguamish Tribe, opened Washington’s first tribally owned and operated craft brewery this past week, according to a press release.

Angel’s Tap House Brewery will be brewing its own beer and baking artisan pizzas at its location inside the casino and hotel in Arlington. Former Ellis Island Casino & Brewery head brewer Frank Ellis is Angel’s head brewer.

Angel’s Tap House will have eight beers on tap, including Angel’s Golden Pilsner, Angel’s Tap House Pale Ale, El Diablo Red, Watershed Blonde, Bigfoot Nut Brown Ale, C Hawk Bock, Fallen Angel IPA and Still Water Stout.

“We will have something that appeals to everyone,” said Angel of the Winds Casino and Hotel general manager Travis O’Neil.

According to the press release, Ellis, who started brewing at age 14, has a degree in brewing technology from the Siebel Institute in Chicago and The Doemen’s Academy in Germany.

As executive director of brewery operations at Ellis Island, the brewery was recognized as the No. 1 Large Brew Pub in Nevada from New Brewers Magazine as well as No. 1 Brewery in Nevada Mountain West Region from the National Brewer’s Association.
