USA, AL: Cahaba Brewing Co. to open new location on January 19

Cahaba Brewing Co. on January 13 announced it will open its new location on Tuesday, Jan. 19, Birmingham Business Journal reported.
The new taproom is located in building C of the Continental Gin campus at 4500 Fifth Ave. S. The taproom will begin serving beers to the public at 1 p.m.

The 2616 3rd Ave. S location will close Friday, Jan. 15 at 11 p.m.

To commemorate the brewery's first location, Cahaba is hosting a “Last Pint Night,” where the public can come and enjoy their last beer at the old taproom.

“We cannot wait to share the new taproom with customers, but want to give those who have been supporters from the beginning a chance to say goodbye to the place where it all started,” said Eric Meyer, head brewer and partner.

Construction at the Continental Gin location began in August 2015.

The new facility includes a 6,000-square-foot taproom with a new AV system including two projectors and multiple TVs, in addition to a 3,000-square-foot covered patio and more parking.

The brewhouse has a 30-barrel system, a high-­tech lab for quality control and a 4,000-square-foot barrel and storage space.
