Canada, SK: Churchill Brewing launches own brand line-up
Prairie beer blog On Beer reports that a brewery that has been quietly producing beer exclusively for a western restaurant chain for the past year has now launched its own brand line-up.
Churchill Brewing was founded by brothers and restaurant industry veterans Ryan and Curtis Peet, who launched the brewery early last year with a contract to brew the house beers for the Saskatchwan and Manitoba locations of Original Joe’s, a strategy that has allowed the company to establish a regular cash flow while preparing for a wider launch.
Now, the brewery has released five beers under the Churchill brand – Churchill Blonde Lager, Plainsmen Pilsner, Rivermen Red Ale, Britisher English Brown Ale, and Sundog Belgian Wit – with the first four available in 355 ml cans at select private liquor stores in Saskatchewan, and all available on tap at licensees in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
