USA, FL: Ocean Sun Brewing opened in Orlando this week
When the co-owners of Ocean Sun Brewing needed a name for their new craft beer business, they looked to Central Florida for inspiration, Wesh Orlando reported on March 21.
"What's more Central Florida than ocean and sun?" said co-owner Steve Wilkerson. "That's what we have plenty of here."
Ocean Sun Brewing on Curry Ford Road in Orlando opened on March 21, adding to a growing list of spots that cater to craft beer lovers in Central Florida.
The microbrewery offers a range of beers - six in all - from its lighter Sunburst Kolsch (5.2 percent ABV) to its Mur De Huy Belgian dark strong ale (9 percent ABV).
"We're very passionate about creating unique flavors that not only stick to style but also open the door to expanding people's drinking experience," said Ocean Sun's head brewer Noah Cowles.
One unique feature of the 5,200-square-foot brewery and tap room is the open brew house. No walls separate the tap room from the large, stainless-steel vats, so guests can get a close-up view of where the brew is made.
"We really want to get to know our customers and make sure they are having a good experience," Cowles said.
