USA, WY: Danielmark’s Brewing Co. set to officially open in Cheyenne in a few weeks
Brewery news

Beer is brewing on 18th Street in Cheyenne, and the Magic City of the Plains’ newest brewery will be open to the public in a few short weeks, Wyoming Tribune reported on March 25.

Danielmark’s Brewing Co. received its federal permit on March 21 and will be open in early April, said Kim Combs, the company’s treasurer.

An announcement about the exact date of the brewery’s grand opening will be made next week on the brewery’s Facebook page, she said.

“I think it’s just exciting to open a new business and bring something to Cheyenne everybody’s wanting,” Combs said.

The brewery is the work of two couples – Paul and Beth Warntz and Daniel and Kim Combs – and it takes its name from Daniel and his middle name, Mark.

Danielmark’s first announced the brewery last summer, but delays in obtaining the necessary Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) permit kept pushing the opening date back.

Kim Combs said the brewery enlisted the help of the offices of both Sens. Mike Enzi and John Barrasso, the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce and Visit Cheyenne to put pressure on the TTB to complete the permit process.

Combs said the permit was received on March 21 morning, and beer production started later that day.

The TTB is the government agency responsible for issuing licenses to alcohol and tobacco producers. It continues to experience long delays in reviewing permit applications.

Despite the agency’s goal of processing permit applications “within 75 days of receipt,” actual processing times listed for a new brewery on the TTB website are up to 156 days.

Regardless, the beer can now flow at Danielmark’s.

The brewery is located in the Corson House at 209 E. 18th St., which is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Several types of beers will be on tap, including a pale ale, a pilsner, an IPA, an Irish red and an Irish stout.

Combs said a seasonal beer will also be available.

Danielmark’s will be the second operating brewery in Cheyenne, joining Freedom’s Edge.

Meanwhile, the company that owns Wyoming’s Rib and Chop House is interested in opening a brewery in Cheyenne, something that could happen this year.
