USA, WA: Old Stove Brewing Company ready to open in Seattle
Brewery news

Old Stove Brewing Company is ready to open inside Pike Place Market in Seattle, Eater reported on April 13.

The brewery will hold its grand opening on Saturday, April 15 at 11 a.m. with eight beers on tap: an IPA, wheat, pale ale, pilsner, saison, stout, double IPA, and a brown ale, with a session IPA and a Cascadian dark ale coming next week. At the opening party, the brewery will donate two dollars from every beer sold to the Pike Up! campaign, which is supporting the new Pike Place MarketFront expansion slated for 2017.

Old Stove's taproom currently sits on First Avenue between Pike and Pine, with its production facility housed one floor below. That will all move next year when the MarketFront expansion opens. Old Stove will join Honest Biscuits, Indi Chocolate, and JarrBar in the new building.

Old Stove evidently shares neighboring Pike Brewing Company's fascination with memorabilia; the new taproom will feature neon beer and brewery signs; museum-style display cases with beer cans from the 30s, 40s, and 50s; a cast iron, nickel plated Kalamazoo stove (circa 1905) from the Kalamazoo Stove Company (1902-1952); antique stove handles for tap pulls; and a 25-foot mural depicting a 1905 barroom scene that doubles as an "I Spy" game.

Old Stove co-founders Chris Moore and Brian Stan brought in Scott Barron as head brewer. Barron's resume includes Fish Brewing Company, Ram Brewing, and the former Pacific Rim Brewery.
