USA, ID: Payette Brewing opening new headquarters in Boise soon
When Payette Brewing Co.’s new headquarters opens at 733 S. Pioneer St. in Boise, the experience will be plush compared to the brewery’s 2010 debut in Garden City, Idaho Statesman reported on April 20.
For one thing, there will be furniture.
“I don’t think we had chairs when we first opened this place,” Payette founder Mike Francis remembers with a chuckle. “I think we just told people to stand at the bar and have a beer.”
Six years later, Payette cranks out more beer than any other Idaho brewery. The new Boise facility — in the former 32,000-square-foot home of Bronco Elite Athletics — is a $4.5 million project that will ramp up Payette’s distribution in nearby states.
For Boise beer drinkers, the biggest perk will be a tap room that holds about 200 people.
“There’s a chance that we might have a soft opening next weekend,” Francis says. “That’s what we’re pushing for right now. I think it can be done. But I’m also not so sure at this point. Things change fast.”
Payette recently posted an ad on its Facebook page seeking new employees: “Tap room with outdoor beer garden will offer over 20 Payette beers on tap and we’re looking for badass on-premise sales/service people to join our team. Accepting resumes now!”
