USA, VA & WA: Waynesboro-based Seven Arrows Brewing Co. to expand distribution
Waynesboro-based Seven Arrows Brewing Co. has announced it will now be distributing in the Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia, Staunton News Leader reported on April 20.
According to Melissa Allen, co-owner of Seven Arrows Brewing Co., the brews are being distributed through Hop and Wine Beverage and expected to start distributing in May.
The brewery started distributing locally back in February 2015 through Blue Ridge Beverage Company. This is a huge step for the considerably young business venture, Allen said.
“This is an exciting time for us here at Seven Arrows,” Allen added. “Expanding into the Northern Virginia and D.C. areas has us on track to exceed our second-year expectations and get visibility throughout the state of Virginia sooner than we had forecast.”
There are plans to have a presence in Richmond. “We are excited to have expanded, and our distribution now ranges throughout the entire state of Virginia and D.C., with the exception of the greater Richmond area,” Allen said. “We are hoping to expand there later in the year.”
The brewery first opened in 2014 and recently won an award at the 2015 Virginia Craft Brewers Festival. The brewery’s Skyline Lager received a gold medal in the light lager division. More than 60 Virginia craft breweries battled for top billing in a variety of categories in August 2015 at Devil’s Backbone Basecamp and Brewpub, making it the fourth year for the festival.
Allen and her husband, Aaron, invested $100,000 of their own money toward the half-million-dollar enterprise. The rest was funded by loans and investors. The building, which they lease, is close to Waynesboro city limits on U.S. 250.
