USA, NY: Three Heads Brewing preparing to launch on June 16
Brewery news

The long-awaited Three Heads Brewing facility in Rochester's Neighborhood of the Arts is slated to open next month, Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reported.

Three Heads, 186 Atlantic Ave., will officially open its doors to the drinking public on Thursday, June 16, right in the middle of Rochester Real Beer Week.

That opening party, which runs from 3 till 11 p.m., will kick off four straight days of live music, food trucks and new beers. 3HB has promised four new beers for the opening week, including a collaborative brew with Rochester craft beer pioneer Rohrbach Brewing.

"It is the craziest thing ever to finally have it here," Three Heads co-founder Geoff Dale said. "It's like having a triathlon, and for a big guy like me, that's a miracle, because I would probably be dead within the first 10 minutes. But to finally be at the finish line of a triathlon, it is the most amazing feeling. Even though it's only been a year for the project, we started planning this 18 months before we started construction.

"So much has gone into this. It's like having 12 birthdays and 12 Christmases all rolled up into one, and then you throw in good beer."

The new 20,000-square-foot space will allow 3HB to shift its brewing operations from CB's Craft Brewers in Honeoye Falls, where 3HB has contract-brewed since its inception in 2010.

The $4 million space features a 2,000-square-foot tasting room, a huge outdoor patio and increased brewing capacity to allow 3HB to focus on six-packs of its core brands and smaller tasting-room-only test batches.

3HB held an unofficial grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony last week with Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Cuomo was at the brewery to announce legislation designed to modernize the state's antiquated liquor laws.
