USA, TX: BrainDead Brewing’s production set to grow by up to 500%
Brewery news

BrainDead Brewing could grow its production by up to 500 percent thanks to a 1,300-square-foot expansion.

As first reported by CultureMap, the Deep Ellum brewpub, which opened in March 2015, is adding the space on the east side of its location at 2625 Main St., Dallas. Previously, BrainDead occupied 5,283 square feet.

The new square footage will be entirely dedicated to brewing. The company previously made its beer in a 700-square-foot space, producing 1,100 barrels in its first year.

“We reached our capacity in year one in how much room we can possibly brew in that space,” co-founder and co-owner Sam Wynne told the Dallas Business Journal.

The expansion will immediately allow BrainDead to grow its production by 50 to 100 percent, but it also has room to eventually grow by 400 to 500 percent, Wynne added.

BrainDead’s restaurant and patio space will not be affected by the expansion.

The brewpub makes four core beers, and regularly creates new brews. Since opening, it has formulated roughly 20 other recipes.

In addition to Wynne, who also created restaurant concept Rodeo Goat, BrainDead was co-founded and is co-owned by Jeff Fryman, formerly cicerone at Union Bear.
