Bulgaria: Per capita beer consumption increases to 73.5 litres
In 2015, Bulgaria’s per capita beer consumption increased to 73.5 litres, the Union of Bulgarian Brewers reported on July 19. The previous five-year average was 72 litres per capita.
A recent survey showed Bulgarian men drink beer around twelve times per month, while women only choose beer 5 times per month.
In the last five years, Bulgaria’s breweries launched more than 42 new beer brands and types. Last year saw the increase in popularity of unpasteurized and unfiltered beer.
According to local brewers, Bulgaria’s beer market increased 2% last year versus 2014.
