USA: Milwaukee-based Miller Brewing Co. has selected Rackspace Managed Hosting to manage and support all of the Web infrastructure for the world's second largest brewer. San Antonio-based Rackspace will provide Miller with managed hosting services for all of the brewer's consumer Web sites, including those that offer product information, online promotions and interactive entertainment, American City Business Journals Inc. posted on Monday, August 30, 2004. Terms of the agreement were not released.

Miller relies upon Windows servers for the company's database functions, while Linux servers are used to support Web traffic and tracking capabilities. Rackspace will support both platforms for Miller.

"We found Rackspace's deep expertise with both Windows and Linux and strong partnerships with Microsoft and Red Hat very attractive," says Debbie Zenner, associate relationship marketing manager for the brewer. "We knew that Rackspace could help us deploy a multi-OS (operating system) environment optimized to support our most critical consumer-facing sites."

Miller Brewing is a wholly owned subsidiary of SABMiller plc. Its top-selling brands include Miller Lite, Miller Genuine Draft, Milwaukee's Best, Olde English 800 and SKYY Blue.
