USA, WI: South Shore Brewery now brewing at new facility in Washburn
South Shore Brewery is now brewing beer in Washburn at a new bottling and kegging facility, WDIO-TV reported on December 22.
On December 21, the first batch of Nut Brown was bottled up. Owner Bo Belanger explains that the brewery does things a bit differently than other craft beers; namely, all the base malt used comes from farms in Mason and hops come from central Wisconsin.
"The ingredients themselves - in the fact that it's Lake Superior water - what we're trying to put in our water is that passion we have for brewing, but it also says something about us and the community we are living and working in," Belanger said. "This is going to allow us to compete and get our brand in the retails."
The building also features the Tap House with a tasting room, windows looking into the brewery and a shuffleboard game for some entertainment.
