USA, MI: Midland Brewing Co. plans to reopen on February 9
Brewery news

Patrons have waited more than a year for the day: Midland Brewing Co. plans to reopen Thursday, Feb. 9, Midland Daily News reported on January 18.

Hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Midland Brewing is located at 5011 N. Saginaw Road.

Co-owner Dave Kepler says the more than $1 million in upgrades will have made the wait worthwhile.

“We have 14 taps and we’re trying to fill them all,” he said.

That includes flagship beers Copper Harbor Ale, Brothers IPA, Dublin Street Stout, Isle Royale Cream Ale and Midland Pale Ale.

There are a couple newcomers, too: the “‘Silver Jack’ Griscoll” is a Russian Imperial stout that Kepler says is “robust.” It’s named in honor of the famed 19th-century Michigan lumberjack John Griscoll.

“We’re going to be introducing a new American wheat beer as well,” Kepler said. Keeping with the historical nod to burly men, its name seems apt: “Lumberjack Brawl.”

Another new brew is the “7 Vultures” black IPA, which Kepler said features seven different types of hops.
