USA, IL: Vice District Brewing nearly all set to open in April
Vice District Brewing is nearly all set to open in Homewood. The brewery is eyeing a mid-to-late April opening date at its already approved site at 18022 Dixie Highway, according to a recent report from the Homewood-Flossmoor Chronicle.
Owners Curtis Tarver and Quintin Cole already operate a popular brewery in the South Loop of Chicago, but the Homewood location has potential to be even better. The Dixie Highway facility will be able to make about 4,000 barrels of beer per year at the start, while their Chicago brewery produced 800 barrels during all of 2016.
Other sure to be popular aspects of the Homewood brewery will be the 15-barrel brewhouse and taproom.
While most of the leg work is already done, it will be about a six week process before the beer will be ready for patrons and to distribute to local establishments.
“We are working on getting the barrels, kegs and cans in place,” Tarver said. “We anticipate that we will be able to start brewing in mid- to late-April.”
