USA, VA: Strangeways Brewing to open its Fredericksburg location on June 23
Strangeways Brewing will open its Fredericksburg location at 350 Lansdowne Road on June 23, Fredericksburg.com reported on June 9.
And through that Sunday the brewery will celebrate its grand opening weekend with a new beer release each day, food trucks, outdoor games, music and more.
After months of renovating the former Burton’s Menswear warehouse space, Strangeways Brewing will open its 10,000-square-foot tasting room and brewery, representing a $2.5 million investment.
According to a news release, the renovated property now includes a state of the art 10-barrel brewing system, a 100-foot U-shaped bar, a private lounge, an arcade, private event space, a newly constructed patio with 30-foot outside bar and “plenty of strange decor not to be missed.”
This is the second location for Strangeways Brewing, which opened in Henrico County in 2013. The Richmond-based brewery will continue to produce beers on the 20-barrel system and operate its tasting room.
Fredericksburg is Strageways founder and owner Neil Burton’s hometown.
“We are beyond thrilled to be bringing what we think is a truly unique tasting room experience to the Fredericksburg community,” Burton said. “The craft beer scene has been exploding in this market, and we are excited to help support that growth. With the addition of Matty Eck, our talented new head brewer for our Fredericksburg location, we are poised to delight our guests with a whole new lineup of exquisitely peculiar beers, alongside many of our perennial customer favorites.”
The brewery will have 48 taps inside and 48 taps outside to offer a plethora of beer made on-site.
“We designed this concept to be unlike anything else around, and we hope you will join us to experience for yourself what is shear madness or perhaps genius, you be the judge,” Burton said.
