USA, WI: Modicum Brewing Company launches in Altoona

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Friday, July 7 at Modicum Brewing Company on the 3700 block of Spooner Ave., Altoona, Wisconsin, WEAU reported.

“I guess it’s been an adulthood dream to open a brewery,” Eric Rykal, the owner of Modicum Brewing Company, said to WEAU 13 News on July 7. “It's been a long road and a lot of sleepless nights, but we're really happy to finally have the doors open.”

Rykal, a Chippewa Falls native, has been making beer for other breweries in the area for past seven years. He said Modicum Brewing will have a revolving tap list of ten beers that will have “just a little tweak on the traditional brewery model.”

“We're going to try to brew some beers that no one else is really doing in the area,” he said. “Not really pushing boundaries or anything like that, but just trying to give something new to the area that no one has really done before.”
