USA, CA: Solid Ground Brewing announces grand opening in Diamond Springs
Solid Ground Brewing is proud to announce the grand opening of its brewery in Diamond Springs, CA. Founded by Scott Johnson and KC Sare, the location features a 30 barrel brewhouse, taproom, large production area for additional seating and private parties, an outdoor patio, and a small kitchen with a limited and rotating menu, Brewbound reported on August 31.
Both Johnson and Sare are foothill natives who wish to use their backgrounds and passion to craft quality lagers, ales, innovative beers, and wine for the enjoyment of our community, friends, family, and beyond.
Johnson holds a 4-year degree in Viticulture and Enology from the University of California, Davis and is an award-winning winemaker for local wineries, including Perry Creek Winery, Gold Mountain Winery, and Element 79 Vineyards. However, Johnson is not just a winemaker. He also studied under well-regarded brewing professor and brewing scientist, Charlie Bamforth.
Sare holds a 4-year degree in Brewing and Distilling Science from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland and has brewed for esteemed breweries including Anheuser-Busch, Gordon Biersch Brewing Company, and most recently Deschutes Brewery. Sare is an award-winning brewer who has been integrally involved in recipe development for award-winning breweries in California’s Sierra Foothills.
At Solid Ground, Johnson and Sare are breaking new ground by pushing the boundaries of beer using winemaking techniques, including barrel aging projects, and blending wine into beer to create harmonious hybrids. They also remain true to the centuries of brewing traditions of intercontinental beer styles. Every beer and wine placed on their tap list undergoes a collaboration of ideas, recipes, and taste-tests before the final product is poured in the taproom.
To celebrate their grand opening, Solid Ground will be hosting ‘Oktoberfest’ commencing Saturday, September 16th and running through Tuesday, October 3rd. On Saturdays, they will be providing entertainment, including German music performed by Hasen Pfeffer and German dancing by Alpentänzer Schuhplattler, as well as offering Bavarian fare and German-style beers; available during weekdays.
