USA, GA: Reformation Brewery planning second facility
Brewery news

The Woodstock-based venture that's played a role in introducing craft beer to quite a few Cherokee County residents has announced plans to open a second facility. Reformation Brewery said it hopes to open the second location at 105 Elm Street by the spring of 2018, Patch.com reported on October 12.

The new spot will house a second system dedicated to small batch experimental brews, and the space will serve as a research and development facility as well as a gathering place for community, the company said on October 12.

The site would be located near the Noonday Creek trailhead and the Elm Street Event Green.

“For some time, we’ve wanted more freedom to develop new beers and deliver an experience in the very heart of our city,” said Spencer Nix, CEO and co-founder of Reformation Brewery. “We're excited for our guests and local community to enjoy a fresh, new space with ample room to create moments that matter."

A new law that went into effect Sept. 1 played a part in the brewery's plans to expand its operations. Nix said the legislation has allowed Reformation to expand its offerings and Keeping Room hours, thus propelling the need to find more space and grow its employee base.

"A chance to breathe life into an ignored piece of downtown speaks to the very heart of Reformation," Nix continued. "We are excited to invest in our hometown to revitalize a piece of property that has been empty for years. Woodstock needs a backyard hangout space for everyone to enjoy."

Celebrating its fourth anniversary this month, Reformation Brewery has experienced rising popularity and growth, and the company notes 2018 will be a year for "deeper investment in innovation."

Reformation plans to continue production of its core products and expand new offerings. The brewery envisions a maker space where customers can see, smell and hear how its craft beer is made.
