Canada, NS: Ol’ Biddy’s Brew House releases its first beers
Atlantic Canada Beer Blog reports that a well-known homebrewer in the Maritimes has released the first beers from his commercial nanobrewery.
Ol’ Biddy’s Brew House has been launched by Keith Forbes and his wife Erin Delaney-Forbes, and is based in the basement of their home in Lower Sackville.
Working on a custom built 120-litre brewing system with two fermenters, Forbes has three core brands that he intends to have available on a regular basis – Funktown APA (“Crisp and clean, hop-forward American Pale Ale”), Disco Inferno Red IPA (“Well balanced, malt-forward, with chocolate and caramel notes and a citrus hop-focused finish”), and Even Gooder Coffee Brown (“A well-balanced complex Brown Ale with a dense coffee aroma and flavor”).
In addition, the brewery will offer a rotating series of one off and seasonal brands, including a Vanilla Bourbon Chocolate Milk Stout, a hoppy wheat ale known as The Orange American Bastard (#Trump), and many others that are mentioned in the ACBB feature.
Ol’ Biddy’s beers are now available on tap at select bars and growler fill stations in the Halifax area. While sales are limited to draught accounts at the moment, Forbes is investigating the possibility of offering growler sales in the future.
