Canada, AB: Sea Change Brewing launches in Edmonton, own brewery to follow soon
A new brewery opening soon in Edmonton has announced the release of its first brand, Canadian Beer News reported on January 11.
Sea Change Brewing has been founded by a group of local musicians led by Ian McIntosh, along with head brewer Taylor Falk, and is described as “an artist friendly and run business.”
Currently brewing elsewhere under contract while construction of its own facility is underway, Sea Change has entered the market with a Blonde Ale (5% abv, 18 IBU) that is described as follows:
Subtle malt flavours of bread and wheat are matched with a very accessible, slightly citrusy light hop profile. Finishes smooth, clean, and medium-dry. Easy-drinking and very approachable.
Future brands will include Pale Ale (5.5% abv, 30 IBU), Belgian Tripel (9.0% abv, 30 IBU), IPA (7.0% abv, 40 IBU), and Irish Red Ale (5.0% abv, 20 IBU).
Sea Change beer can currently be found on tap at select bars in Edmonton. The brewery and taproom/store is expected to open this spring, with packaged product to follow in the summer.
