Ukraine: Ukraine reports decline in December and H1 2017/18 barley exports
According to preliminary information of market participants, barley exports from Ukraine totalled 70.6 thousand tonnes in December 2017, which is four and a half times less than at the same time in 2016 (314.1 thousand tonnes) and the smallest December volume since 2011, reports UkrAgroConsult.
Almost all December barley exports were absorbed by Turkey (91%); the remainder went mostly to the European Union.
Ukraine exported 3.8 mln tonnes of barley in the first half of the 2017/18 season - down 11.7% year-on-year (4.3 mln tonnes was shipped abroad in July-December 2016/17).
