South Korea & Europe: Hite Jinro’s beer sales in Europe up 60% in 2017
Hite Jinro Co., South Korea's leading liquor manufacturer, said on January 29 its combined sales in key European countries jumped 60 percent on-year, as it moves to expand its presence in the global market, the Yonhap News reported.
A total of 220,000 cases of beer were sold in European countries, including England, France, Germany and Russia, according to the company.
Among the total, 170,000 cases were sold in Russia, in line with the growing popularity of Korean food and drinks in the country, it said.
"We will expand our distribution channel in Europe and strengthen our grip on the market," said Hwang Jeong-ho, a senior company official in charge of overseas businesses.
