USA, CA: Council Brewing Company expanding into new brewery in Santee
Council Brewing Company, which launched in 2014 in Kearny Mesa, is expanding into new brewery and tasting room in Santee, the Eater San Diego reported on March 21.
Founders Liz and Curtis Chism once owned a home in the East County neighborhood, and will be taking over the space previously held by Finest Made Ales, which includes a seven barrel brewhouse. In a blog post, head brewer Liz Chism shared that this brewery will primarily focus on brewing IPAs, which will be canned as part of a rotating series, as well as give Chism the capacity to do more collaboration beers. The brewery has also become known for its sour beers, which it will continue to make at its original Convoy area facility.
The Santee tasting room will feature a variety of Council’s lineup on tap, from its sour beers to more lighter-drinking styles and its house kombucha, Magic Booch. The new location could open in the next two to three months.
