USA, DE: Mispillion River Brewing finalizing negotiations for new brewpub in Milford
Brewery news

In February Mispillion River Brewing announced that they plan to open a new brewpub in Milford. Although they cannot release information on the exact location as lease negotiations are still being finalized, the new brewpub will be located on Route 1 in Milford, the Milford Live reported on April 17.

“We are long-term Milford residents and we wanted the opportunity to show visitors the community experience Milford has to offer,” Lauren Bigelow, Mispillion’s Marketing Director said. “We have so many great artisans and such a beautiful culture, we wanted the chance to bring it to as many people as possible.

The new location will be a completely new building that will be designed to attract not only Milford residents but those traveling through Milford to get to other destinations. The new brewpub will offer a lot of shareables and handheld menu items. Although the brewery has not officially announced the location as they are finalizing paperwork, a billboard on Route 1 indicates that it will be located between Royal Farms and Grotto Pizza.

“We will also offer a full bar,” Ms. Bigelow said. “We recognize that many people are not beer drinkers and we do not want to exclude them. The current location will serve as a production location and welcome center for visitors in the area.”

Mispillion River Brewing opened its doors on Mullet Road in November 2013. The brewery was born from the love of craft brewing and the company has held true to the art form by brewing some of the finest craft beers in the area. In 2016, Mispillion River Brewing partnered with Abbott’s Grill, opening Brick Works in Smyrna. Brick Works serves housemade beer and casual foods created by Kevin Reading. Ms. Bigelow said that the brewpub in Milford will solely be a Mispillion River Brewing project, however. The new brewpub is expected to open in early 2019.

“We are very excited to open the new brewpub,” Eric Williams, President of Mispillion River Brewing, said. “We have some new ideas that we think will raise the stakes for brewpubs in the state.”
