Canada, ON: Contract brewing Equals Brewing Company to open next month in London
The London Free Press reports that a large brewing facility exclusively dedicated to contract brewing will be opening next month on Sovereign Road in London, Ontario.
As originally reported late last year, Equals Brewing Company is being established by Southwest Sun Group, a private investment partnership with nearly three decades of experience in various ventures, all of which were divested in order to concentrate on this new project.
The C$10-million brewing operation is currently in the final stages of construction, and is expected to be producing test batches by May 14th, with full-scale operations to launch soon afterwards.
Brian Semkowski, one of the partners in the business, tells the paper that Equals already has contracts in place to brew 10 beers, including 3 for Toronto-based companies, and 7 for local companies including Toboggan Brewing.
Brewing will be overseen by Justin McKellar, a former Labatt Breweries employee, with client breweries welcome to have their own brewers on hand to be involved in production.
