USA, AZ: Bone Haus Brewing becomes first brewery in Fountain Hills
Fountain Hills finally has a brewery of its own, AZCentral.com reported on May 10.
Bone Haus Brewing, at Shea and Palisades boulevards, features a slew of creative flagship beers and an unusual theme. The newly opened taproom pays homage to the catacombs and ossuaries across Europe the owners have visited.
"Those warmly lit chambers contain artistic and stunning displays of skeletal remains of everyone from revered monks to common townsfolk," co-owners Keith Chapman said via email. "Those final resting places are hardly final, as they now serve as monuments for inspiration, reflection, and celebration for the living."
Chapman opened Bone Haus with two partners: Andy Weiner, the brewmaster, has been homebrewing for 25 years; and David Lozeau, a designer, has been involved in the alcohol and spirits industry for more than a decade.
Bone Haus Brewing's signature beer is the Black IPA that is made from European grains, with hints of mocha flavor and a smooth finish.
The mainstay beers also include the Chocolate Milk Sout, Mesquite Brown Ale, Raspberry Blonde Ale and Double Pitch Witbier.
The brewery doesn't serve food, but guests can get grub delivered from nearby restaurants, and food trucks will visit regularly.
Weiner and Chapman have lived in Fountain Hills for many years, so they hope Bone Haus Brewing will bring more awareness to the town beyond its iconic fountain.
"We believe that Fountain Hills can be a destination location that provides locals and visitors something that doesn't exist anywhere else," Chapman added. "We’re hoping that our passion encourages other people and businesses to invest, build, and flourish in this town."
