USA, RI: The Smug Brewing Company holds grand opening in Pawtucket
The Smug Brewing Company held its grand opening on Saturday, November 10 at the Carver Street location in Pawtucket, Turn to 10 reported.
Robert DaRosa, the owner of the company said it’s been all hands on deck for the last eight months.
“It’s a very humbling experience that people are walking through your doors for your and what you've created,” said DaRosa.
Prior to the Smug Brewing moving in the Pawtucket location, it was home to “The Bucket Brewery” which has since closed.
“Why not? Beer is great. Beer makes me feel good. I love beer," said DaRosa. "Pawtucket is already a hub for breweries."
DaRosa has personally been perfecting his craft for more than eight years now. His Rhode Island brewed beers will be interchanging based on the seasons although some are signature like the “Driving Miss Hazy” named after his daughter
"I wanted to thank everyone for coming out today it’s been a long journey and a dream come true," said DaRosa.
Brewing Company brews its beers inside of the location. It’s equipped with a bar, several tables and a relaxation area.
Despite other businesses opting to leave Pawtucket recently, DaRosa has the confidence in his Brewery and its addition to the beer scene.
“My favorite is driving miss hazy," said Greg Falk, friend of DaRosa and volunteer at the company.
A cozy craft beer brewery in the new and improved location formerly known as "the Bucket Brewery."
On a weekly basis, new pop-up restaurants and food trucks will be joining in on the fun at the Brewery, cooking up different food to sell alongside the beer.
"We are Rhode Island strong. We want everything to be sold in Rhode Island," said DaRosa.
The Kraft beer will hit the shelves and restaurants in the coming weeks, but if you could use a cold one, Brewing company's doors will be open.
"You come to Pawtucket because that's where all the beer is in Rhode Island. You don't have to travel far and you can hit four different breweries in this little area," said DaRosa. "Beer is not just a regular run in the mill thing, it's something special and we want to treat it special and show everyone we make special beer."
The brewery is scheduled to open Thursday through Sunday.
The owner told NBC 10 News they will update their social media pages with what food trucks and businesses they're partnering with weekly.
