UK: Russian brewing force, Baltika is opening its first pub in Great Britain on October 28. The three-level beer restaurant is located in the centre of Glasgow. The cost of the project implemented in partnership with Scottish&Newcastle is more than 1,5 billion pounds sterling.
From January to September 2004 the export of Baltika beer to Great Britain increased by 20 % from the same period in 2003, the PRIME-Tass economic news agency cited the Russian company press service as saying.
In 2004, Baltika began to export beer to Australia, New Zeeland, Cyprus, Poland, Lebanon, and China – 35 countries all in all. Cuba, Brazil, India, Mexico, and Costa Rica will be selling Russian beer in 2005.
