Canada, NB: 3Flip Brewing now open in Douglas just outside of Fredericton
Brewery news

A new brewery with a mission to create “beer for the misfits, outcasts and freaks, aka the innovators, creators and revolutionaries” is now open in the small community of Douglas just outside of Fredericton, New Brunswick, the Canadian Beer News reported on January 28.

3Flip Brewing has been founded by award-winning homebrewer Nick Jones and his partner Alicia Cassidy. Like several other small brewery start-ups in the province in recent years, 3Flip is in a residential area, with Jones brewing on a 120-litre system in the basement of their house.

The official launch for the brewery took place on January 26 at The Joyce Pub in Fredericton, where three 3Flip brands – Anonymous Amber Ale (5.0% abv, 40 IBU), Oat Cold Oatmeal Stout (5.2% abv, 34 IBU), and Pretty Fly for a White IPA (6.5% abv, 70 IBU) – were available on tap.

Distribution of 3Flip beers is currently limited to draught sales at local bars, restaurants, and NB Liquor growler stations, but there are plans to start packaging in bottles later this year, and the couple are also aiming to open a taproom in Fredericton sometime in 2020.
