Brazil: Grupo Petrópolis to build new brewery in Minas Gerais
Grupo Petrópolis, Brazil’s third-largest beer maker, is planning a new brewery in Uberaba, Minais Gerais (the north of Southeastern Brazil), Catalisi reported on March 25.
The facility, expected to take 54 ha, is scheduled to be launched by April 2020. Total investments in the project are expected at around R$800 mln.
This will be Grupo Petrópolis’ eighth brewery in the country, in addition to the facilities in Petrópolis (Rio de Janeiro), Teresópolis (Rio de Janeiro, Boituva (Sao Paulo), Bragança Paulista (Sao Paulo), Rondonópolis (Mato Grosso), Alagoinhas (Bahia), and Itapissuma (Pernambuco).
Grupo Petrópolis’ current share of the Brazilian beer market is estimated at 12%.
