USA, NY: Ghost Brewing Company opens in Bay Shore
The long-awaited arrival of Ghost Brewing Company is here, bayshore.greaterlongisland.com reported on December 13.
On Friday, December 13, the brewery — headed by longtime BrickHouse Brewery brewmaster Paul Kosmic — opened in the former Fire Island Beer space inside the Great South Brewery on Drexel Drive.
As previously reported, Ghost features a 15-barrel brewhouse and a tasting room that can hold up to 70 people.
Kosmic and his team are using Ghost’s moniker in naming its beers in the realm of the supernatural and otherworldly. Think Ghost Witte, Vanishing Point, and Afterlife.
“In general a dark, ethereal, type of vibe,” said Komsic.
The space, which will be dog-friendly, isn’t for the little ones, say the owners.
“It’s going to be an adult atmosphere,” said Kosmic. “We’re not planning on allowing children in… we want more of a speakeasy vibe.”
In addition to crafting their own brews, Ghost also acquired a farm brewery license, allowing them to serve up spirits and mixed drinks.
Going forward, the new brewery will be running on a limited hour basis until fully opened. When that happens, Ghost will have hours Wednesdays through Sundays.
