USA, WI: Steeltank Brewing Co. to open to public on January 18
Steeltank Brewing Co., 1225 Robruck Drive in Oconomowoc, will open to the public Jan. 18, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported on December 31.
The taproom is one more step in creating a full-fledged brewery, something that Dave Baron and Jason Radosevich have been working on for more than three years.
Steeltank plans to open with 12 or 13 beers on beers on tap. The inventory eventually will include IPAs, Amber, Oktoberfest, Pale Ale, Kolsch, Pilsner, Hefeweizen, Brown Ale, Porter, Vienna Lager, Scotch Ale and an Oatmeal Coffee Stout.
The taproom will be open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. (maybe midnight) on Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday, Baron said.
Food truck Just Smokin' Barbecue, owned by Justin Kahle, teamed up with Steeltank and will provide food for the taproom starting on opening night. The 4,500-square-foot taproom, formerly Hops & Leisure, already has a turnkey kitchen.
Baron and Radosevich started as home brewers, but more recently have been contract brewing at Brewfinity, an Oconomowoc neighbor. The pair plan to continue making beer there until they can get their own equipment in place.
