USA, WY: Mountain Hops Brewhouse plans to launch in Casper by early July
It all started with a home brewing kit and now within a couple weeks, Eric Magnuson will open his own brewery, Wyoming News Now reported on June 16.
"I just got more and more involved with it, more and more interested and learned everything I could. It was always a dream to open my own brewery," said Magnuson.
In 2019 a brewery in Buffalo closed. Magnuson reached out to see if the equipment was for sale, which it was. His family had also recently bought the building that would become Mountain Hops Brewhouse and suggested Magnuson put his brewery there.
"I've been working for my father at his car lot for the last nine years and I think he just wanted me to follow my dream and they're very supportive," said Magnuson.
Magnuson said he won't have anyone else's beer on his taps and what sets him apart from other breweries, is he likes to experiment.
"I really enjoy experimenting with ingredients, things that you don't see very often. I do an IPA that I make candied oranges for and I put candied oranges in the beer. I just like things that are just a little bit different, not your run of the mill type beer," said Magnuson.
Magnuson said he can't wait to show the community what his brewery has to offer.
"It's gonna be surreal. It feels like this has taken so long but really it's just been a few months so I can't wait. I've always loved doing this to make people happy, making beers makes people happy," said Magnuson.
Magnuson plans on opening Mountain Hops Brewhouse in Casper by the end of the month or early July and said the next step after getting established is getting his beer out to local restaurants.
