Rwanda: Factory launches production of centuries-old traditional sorghum beer
On October 5, a Kamonyi district-based factory rolled out the first bottles of the traditional sorghum beer that has been consumed in Rwanda for many centuries, Taarifa Rwanda reported.
The beer is locally known as Kigage. It is nutritious and is commonly served at traditional wedding ceremonies and other cultural practices in the Rwandan tradition.
Industrial production of this sorghum beer will enable export and wide local consumption.
