USA, NY: Iron Island Brewery coming to Buffalo’s Lovejoy District this summer
Buffalo is known as a beer city and it will have another brewery to have a pint in coming up later this summer, wyrk.com reported on April 22.
Carousel Development Inc. submitted a plan to open a brewery in the Lovejoy District.
The project calls for converting an existing building on a one-acre site into a beer production and tasting room. The 3,300-square-foot brewery is part of a larger multiparcel redevelopment that also includes retail space for takeout sales, it is reported.
The location of the proposed Iron Island Brewery is at 1223 Lovejoy St. near North Ogden. The site was originally home to the Hopf Star Theater that was built back in 1914.
The brewery will also feature a cobblestone beer garden in the back of the building that will offer customers a chance to sit outside on the concrete stamped patio while having plenty of windows that look back into the brewery.
The brewery will be called Iron Island and will have a beer production facility as well as a taproom. This project will also run in conjunction with restore the former Propis Grill that sits adjacent to the proposed brewery according to bizjournals.com.
Work on the building has begun with parts of the exterior already being removed. The brewery is expected to be open later this summer.
Iron Island Brewery will join the long list of breweries located in Buffalo. Some of the ones that are currently open include Big Ditch, Thin Man, Froth, Community Beer Works, Buffalo Brewing Company, Flying Bison, Rusty Nickle, and Resurgence.
