USA, NY: Square Knot Brewing Co. buying current Three Huskies Brewing location in Canandaigua
Brewery news

Square Knot Brewing Co. may soon have a new home, MPNnow.com reported on May 18.

The brewery, which earlier this year learned it had won gold medals in the 2020 U.S. Open Beer Championships, opened on Pleasant Street in February 2020, shortly before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic forced it to close for a time before reopening at a limited capacity.

Owners Nate Crane and Paul Newhook, former Canandaigua volunteer firefighters and friends, are purchasing the current Three Huskies Brewing location on Lakeshore Drive along with the people behind Clarky’s Twisted Sauce.

The deal was finalized on May 18.

Crane said he has no exact date, but they are hoping to open soon. Square Knot will continue operating at its present site for the time being, according to a post on its website.

Over the years, the small Pleasant Street location has housed Twisted Rail Brewing Co., Peacemaker Brewing Co. and now Square Knot.

“This has been a great spot for all three breweries that have been here, but we all have kind of run into the same thing. You get to a certain point and it’s time go bigger," Crane said. “We’re all very excited.”

More details will be shared soon, but the Lakeshore Drive location will have new brewing system, much expanded outdoor seating area and new menu, Crane said.
