USA, OH: Goodwood Brewing Co. expects to open its first brewpub in Columbus in February or March
Louisville's largest brewery is expanding to a new market, Louisville Business First reported.
Goodwood Brewing Co. is taking over the former Gordon Biersch space at 401 N. Front St. in Columbus, Ohio, and expects to open its brewpub in February or March.
"Columbus is a cool city with a good craft beer scene," Goodwood CEO Ted Mitzlaff said. "We"d been looking in the area for some time. We see a lot of similarities to Louisville."
The brewery considered spots in Dublin and Upper Arlington, but the 14,000-square-foot Gordon Biersch spot was an opportunity too good to pass up. That brewpub closed in early 2020, but its system and tanks are all still in place, which created a turnkey opportunity for Goodwood.
